  • When selecting the filming Projects, consider to adopt the following priority:
    - entire Hong Kong production projects,
    - production projects from Mainland China,
    - production projects from other Asian countries with Hong Kong elements, such as creating jobs for our HK professionals, like recruiting our directors, script-writers, talents, etc., filming location in Hong Kong, using HK's filming facilities, like equipment & film processing, using HK's other services, like banking, technology, etc.,
    - production projects from other part of the world with Hong Kong elements, such as creating jobs for our professionals, like recruiting our directors, script-writers, talents, etc., filming location in Hong Kong, using HK's filming facilities, like equipment & film processing, using HK's other services, like banking, technology, etc.,
    - other projects without Hong Kong elements.
Credits or special attention might be given if a project has international marketing approach.
  • When matriculating the Film Financing, emphasize the following aspects:
    - Strengthening the existing ways such as co-financing a film production with independent entrepreneurs from Mainland China & Taiwan.  For this part I'll let MPDA's member Mr. K.K. Wong inform us more solid outcome.
    - Introducing innovative & possible ways to collaborate the filming & financing, such as:
    • Introduction of Completion Bond System,
    • Promotion & Pre-sale Stage of a Film Production,
    • Loans from Banks basing on presenting Sales Contracts,
    • Ways of Looking for Solid Financing,
    • How to encourage our local banks & financial institutions to finance local productions,
    • Breakthrough of our Traditional Ways of Local Productions & Production Management,
    • Production & Film Quality Control, etc.
  • For this part we need to have expertise & consultation especially from U.S.

1999/07/05     There would be about 20 high quality productions or co-productions aiming at international market are to be rounded up or produced in year 2000.   A working team was formed.  It is a very good chance for the potential motion picture producers worldwide to meet together and discuss their projects.
